L.I.F.E Create a Sketchbook Journal Part 1 of 3
Session 1 of a 3-part series will be held at the Spoon River Community Outreach Center. Anyone can create a sketchbook journal. It can be filled with notes and sketches from a vacation or from ordinary days. It can be doodles, garden flower sketches, or a place to try out new art supplies. You can fill it with poetry or impressions of the day. Since it’s your journal you can use it any way you want to. Session One will be an introduction to sketchbook journaling and will include examples of sketchbooks, various methods of creating a journal, online resources, discussion of supplies, and time for questions and answers.
Bring a notebook and pencil or pen.
Color Expressions in Fiber - Washington Free Public Library, Iowa
This exhibit exemplifies the diversity of techniques and applications of fiber and color. It also represents Christine Williamson’s appreciation for the connection with others who love this medium. Dye colors are prepared and applied to all forms of fiber - unspun fiber, yarns, fabrics - originated from animal, plant, and man-made fibers, and combined into an array of abstract, realistic, and whimsical images.

Felt Luminaries
Would you like to create a luminary lamp with your own unique design? I use mine as a night light. A base with an LED bulb is included. This will be held at the Macomb Art Center and costs $55.

Felted Bowls with Maria Montalvo
Participants will learn to lay out colorful wool to create a five to six inch felted bowl with embellishments.
